Middle-class, family converted to Protestant religion to escape anti-Semitism
Attended the Univeristy of Berlin. studied law and philosophy.

scared of arrest, he and future wife moved to Paris
wrote about terrible conditions of working class
moved around more, eventually returned to Brussels
Wrote The Communist Manifesto, plan of rebellion against government (1848)
exhiled from Germany
Spent most of his life in exile because he was wanted by the Prussian police.
Died March 14, 1883 in North London
People listened to theories in Communist Manifesto and Russian revolution began

Bolsheviks revolted after Karl Marx death, never got to see the communist revolution he created.
Animals took over Mr. Jones farm and started Animalism after Old Major spoke about his dream and died shortly after.
